Matt & Tom visit home.
Matt Green and Tom Copeland Came back to the UK for a brief visit to ride the National road race championships. Whilst here Tom rode a couple of local races in Ingear colours. On the Thursday evening he rode the Surrey League handicap road race at Wivelsfield. It was cool to see Tom riding again and amazing to see how much he had improved. He rode round with his group untill all the groups in front were mopped up then forced a break that stayed away to the finish and easily won the bunch sprint.
On the Tuesday after the Nationals Tom rode the Dunsfold evening circuit race and finished 2nd after being out with his mates untill the early hours the night before!
Matt unfortunatley was still suffering from an injury picked riding the 2nd stage of the Tour of Serbia, of which he had finished 9th on stage 1. Matt rode round the circuit on Thursday evening to see how his injured knee would hold up. Again it was cool to see how much he's improved. Whilst driving the car in the convoy and following the race at 25-26mph i looked in the mirror to see Matt riding on the tops and catching us up!
In the Nationals Tom rode an excellent race finishing in 32nd place and making the split in the chasing bunch when David Millar and co were causing all the carnage.
Well done lads.
